Weekly Astrology Update: September 6 - 13, 2026

Overview

Week of September 6 – 13, 2026:

The week begins relatively quietly. The Sun continues its journey through Virgo, keeping attention on practical matters, routines, organization, and the details of everyday life. For some in the Northern Hemisphere, the days are gradually becoming shorter and sunset is arriving a little earlier, perhaps offering an early hint of the seasonal change still to come. In the Southern Hemisphere, the opposite seasonal shift is gradually taking place as spring approaches.
Several important astrological shifts then take place from September 10 onward. Venus and Mercury both change signs, Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini, and a New Moon in Virgo marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle.
Mercury becomes particularly active toward the end of the week, forming aspects with both Pluto and Neptune shortly after entering Libra.

Venus enters Scorpio on September 10 while already moving through its pre-retrograde shadow.
Venus will station retrograde at 8° Scorpio in October and retrace its path to 22° Libra before turning direct, making this ingress part of a longer cycle involving relationships, values, and attraction. With the retrograde taking Venus back into Libra before it returns to Scorpio, Venus will not complete its passage through Scorpio until January 2027. Scorpio is traditionally considered a sign of detriment for Venus, as it is opposite Taurus, one of the signs ruled by Venus.
As Venus moves through Scorpio, these areas may take on a more intense and private quality, with greater attention to emotional depth, intimacy, trust, attachment, and shared resources. Some of the themes or circumstances that emerge during this period may return for reconsideration later in the retrograde cycle.

Mercury enters Libra on September 10, shifting communication and thought toward balance, comparison, and different points of view.
Conversations may place greater emphasis on fairness, diplomacy, and finding common ground.
Mercury in Libra can be useful for negotiation and considering more than one side of an issue, although weighing too many possibilities can sometimes make decisions more difficult.

Also on September 10, Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini. Uranus has been moving through Gemini since April, beginning a long period of change involving communication, information, technology, transportation, learning, and the ways ideas are exchanged. During its retrograde period, which continues until February 8, 2027, Uranus will move back from 5° to 1° Gemini.
This period may bring some of the developments associated with its recent passage through these degrees into a phase of review or reconsideration. Ideas, changes, or disruptions that have emerged since Uranus entered Gemini may need adjustment before they can develop further. With Uranus turning retrograde, all three outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, are now retrograde.

A New Moon occurs at 18° Virgo on September 11, opening a new lunar cycle with an emphasis on practical matters, organization, work, routines, and the details of everyday life. This can be a useful time to identify what needs improvement, establish better habits, reorganize priorities, or begin something that requires care and attention. Virgo’s tendency to notice what is not working can be productive when directed toward realistic improvements rather than excessive criticism or perfectionism. Both Virgo, where the New Moon occurs, and Gemini, where Uranus stations retrograde around a day earlier, are traditionally ruled by Mercury.

On September 12, Mercury in Libra trines Pluto in Aquarius. Conversations and thought processes may become more focused and perceptive, making it easier to look beneath the surface of a subject or examine an issue in greater depth. This aspect can support research, investigation, problem-solving, and discussions that require honesty or a willingness to address matters that are usually left unspoken.

Mercury also opposes Neptune in Aries on September 12, creating a different influence around communication and perception. Facts and impressions may be more difficult to separate, and misunderstandings or unclear information can complicate conversations and decisions.
Imagination and intuition may be stronger, but assumptions should not automatically be treated as facts.
Allowing time to verify information can be especially useful when something appears uncertain or incomplete.

The Moon travels through Cancer, Leo, Virgo and Libra this week. The Cancer Moon at the beginning of the week may draw attention toward home, family, security, and personal needs. As the Moon enters Leo, expression and confidence may become more prominent.
The Moon’s passage through Virgo leads into Friday’s New Moon, placing greater attention on practical concerns and what may need adjustment or improvement. By the weekend, the Moon in Libra shifts the emphasis toward relationships, cooperation, and balance.

While the Moon moves through Libra, a broad Grand Air Trine pattern emerges involving the Moon and Mercury in Libra, Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, which may support the flow of ideas, communication, and new perspectives.
Around the same period, the Moon in Libra, Ceres in Cancer and Saturn in Aries also come close to forming a T-square across the Cardinal signs, suggesting some tension between emotional needs, responsibilities, and the needs of others. Neither pattern is exact, but both are present as broader configurations in the astrological picture toward the end of the week.

Overall, much of this week’s astrological activity is concentrated between September 10 and 12.
Venus and Mercury enter new signs, Uranus begins its retrograde period, and the Virgo New Moon opens a new lunar cycle. Mercury’s aspects to Pluto and Neptune bring contrasting influences to communication and perception, combining the potential for deeper understanding with a need to distinguish facts from assumptions.
